Current Assignment: Prefect of the Rubrum Raptorae (Legio XLVII)
Prefect Drusus has a long and seasoned military record, having participated in countless battles and never suffering a major defeat. He is a master of tactics and strategy and prefers the quiet of the command station above the clamour of front line leadership. Though his martial skills were excellent he was disliked by his peers for his humourlessness making progression through the ranks slow. Once he attained the rank of Prefect it seemed obvious to those in the Aquila that his ascension to Legate would be rapid.
Prefect Drusus had been sent by his commanders to secure a planet recently captured by Ankarite rebels. Upon arrival at the planet the Prefect learned these rebels had the planetary defenses on their side as well as a force of captured space craft greatly outnumbering the fleet the Prefect led. When he returned to command victorious the Legates praised him highly, declaring a great feast in his honor and his ascension to Legate imminent. However, rumours started to spread, the Prefects men began to talk.
A raid on a rebel ship found a cache of illegal terra weaponry which the Prefect had deployed above the rebel stronghold in the heart of the planets capital. Though no assets of importance to the Prefect were destroyed the burning gamma-rain summoned by the liberated weaponry took the lives of over 3 million men and women. It was impossible to distinguish from the warped remains if they were rebels or civilians. These rumours sparked an investigation, the investigation led to a court marshal. Not once did the Prefect show repentance for what he did but no hard evidence was ever discovered.
His crimes were never brought to the attention of House Crux, as this would cast shame on all of the Aquila, instead he was removed from military duty and his name striken from record. Rumour only spoke of "The Butcher".
Now, with the Emperor dead and the synth forces of the Aquila disbanded the strong leadership of Prefect Drusus was required. With his past crimes temporarily forgotten he has rejoined the army of the Aquila leading men in Legio XLVII.
